This program provides general information on PSRS and on personal financial planning. It is beneficial to all members. What is covered? This program is a “guide to getting started.” It provides basic information on the various components and issues that you need to address when developing a comprehensive financial plan. Topics include household budgeting; insurance and tax planning; saving and investing; and retirement and estate planning. The program also provides general information on PSRS. You will learn about the benefits that are available to you and your family through disability, survivor, and service retirement; how a reinstatement or purchase of credit can maximize your benefit; and other issues that are beneficial to you sooner rather than later.
Registration is not required. A meeting announcement is sent to all members in the area two to three weeks before the scheduled date. Feel free to bring your spouse or guest. It may be helpful to bring a copy of your PSRS statement of account, and an estimate of your retirement benefit previously requested from our office or prepared using our on-line retirement calculator. If you have not yet filed your birth certificate with our office, we recommend that you bring a copy of your birth certificate. If you are married, you may also file your spouse’s birth certificate and a copy of your marriage license. We will document your file and return any original document(s) to you by mail.
